Vienna: Empire, Dynasty and Dream

Join British historian, Simon Sebag Montefiore, as he reveals the rich history of Vienna, one of the world's greatest cities. Simon focusses on the House of Habsburg, one of the most influential and powerful royal houses Europe has witnessed. We examine the house's history, from the forefront defender of Christendom and Catholicism to the defeat of the Ottoman Empire, often regarded as the beginning of their decline. We reveal the stark transformation Vienna has gone through to become the modern and multi-national beacon of art and music it is today.
