George Frideric Handel’s opera Agrippina, which premiered in Venice in 1709, combines political intrigue with romantic drama. Empress Agrippina wishes to place her son Nero on the throne, but the ambitious Poppea stands in her way. In this production, staged for the first time in Brno, the Czech Republic, the Collegium 1704 orchestra performs under the baton of Václav Luks.
