Daraar
1996
Daraar (transl. Rift) is a 1996 Indian romantic psychological thriller film directed by Abbas-Mustan starring Juhi Chawla, Rishi Kapoor and Arbaaz Khan in his film debut.[1] Khan received the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his portrayal as a possessive husband. Upon release, the film received mixed to positive reviews, especially for Arbaaz's portrayal as a possessive and abusive husband. Despite much hype, the film was a box office flop, mainly due to similar films, Yaarana and Agni Sakshi that were also inspired by the 1991 American psychological thriller film Sleeping with the Enemy, much like this film, while only the latter (Agni Sakshi) was successful.[2]
